This relationship between the Haudenosaunee Confederacy
and the Anishinaabeg Nation has been enshrined in wampum.

This includes the Friendship belt, the Dish with One Spoon belt,
and the Eternal Council Fires belt.

The Haudenosaunee Confederacy and the Anishinaabeg Nation last met together in 1840. This wampum has not been renewed since that time.

Welcome to the Covenant of Nations: Sacred Wampum Renewal gathering page.  This site was created to share with participants and supporters alike, about the historic importance of this traditional peoples gathering that was held September 14-15-16, 2023 at Crawford Lake Conservation Area, Milton, Ontario, Canada.

Responding to the challenges of today.  Together.

The goal of the Sacred Wampum gathering was to revitalize the original strong, respectful relationship between the Haudenosaunee Confederacy and the Anishinaabeg Nation to be better able to respond to challenges to nationhood, the environment, and the future of both nations.
